Conren's Chris McEwen to Retire

After 38 years with Conren Limited, Managing Director Chris McEwen is retiring at the end of December 2010.

Joining Conren in 1972, Chris was instrumental in the very early days of the Company when it first started formulating high performance resin floor coatings in a plant in the West Midlands.

Originally undertaking the role of Contracts Manager, Chris worked his way from supervising the contracting division to heading the Company as Managing Director - a role he has undertaken with great enthusiasm for the last 20 years.

During his time with Conren, Chris has seen the Company grow and develop into one of the U.K.’s foremost providers of surfacing solutions.

Chris commented : “I have thoroughly enjoyed working for Conren. We have a great team of very dedicated people and I am extremely proud of the achievements we have made over the years. In particular, receiving The Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1997 was a great honour and, today, to think that Conren products are used on prestigious projects all around the world is a great legacy.

It will be sad to leave as Conren has been such a big part of my life. However, I have a long list of pursuits to keep me busy during my retirement and I am looking forward to new challenges”.

Chris hands over the reins to Ann Collins as the new M.D. for Conren from 1st January 2011.
