The Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) is a new criteria that manufacturers must follow in order to provide worldwide consistent labelling in relation to hazardous products and chemicals.
GHS will be a legal requirement and supersedes all previous classification systems. Replacing the CHIP square orange boxes, the new labels are printed in black easily recognisable pictograms, surrounded by a red diamond.
This new directive simplifies and easily communicates hazard information. From the 1st June 2015, a new system for product labelling and material safety datasheets will take place across the entire Conren range of products.
As manufacturers of floor coatings, screeds, waterproofing and high friction anti-skid for highways, Conren will be taking the pro-active step and contacting all of their existing customers and issuing them with new material safety datasheets.
