Truegrip Treatment in Wrexham Town Centre

When designing the environmental works to enhance the £100 million redevelopment of Eagles Meadow into a shopping and leisure facility, Wrexham County Borough Council selected Conren to provide a practical and aesthetic solution.

The environmental improvements were installed by Wrexham County Borough Council with the aid of grant funding from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The Eagles Meadow project encompasses over 400,000 square feet of retail space, with top high street names including Debenhams, M&S and Next in addition to restaurants, a ten pin bowling alley, an 8-screen cinema and car parking for 970 cars.

Following a brief from Wrexham County Borough Council, Conren provided Truegrip TCD epoxy resin compound with a bespoke decorative anti-slip aggregate to the traffic islands surrounding the complex. The brief was restrictive as the main objective was to compliment the surrounding architecture and natural stone materials used within the horizontal landscape.

The islands therefore were transformed with the new surfacing which provided safety under foot for pedestrians and an aesthetically pleasing finish to compliment both the innovative design of the prestigious mixed-use development built by Wilson Bowden Developments and Wrexham Council’s environmental enhancements on the perimeter.

Typical applications for Truegrip TCD includes footbridges, car parks, cycle paths, walkways, wheelchair access ramps and virtually any external area where there is a need to provide a durable slip resistant finish.
